“Vossii” is a stunning variety of the commonly known, Golden Chain tree. It features clusters of bright yellow, pea-like flowers held off long stems through summer which literally transform the tree. The flowers result in brown seedpods in autumn. The foliage comprises mid-green leaves which develop only slight yellow tones in autumn before falling. This deciduous tree grows with an open-branched structure and a rounded crown as it reaches 7 m tall and 4 m wide. Growth can be contained with trimming as necessary. It grows best when planted in full sun on a well-drained, sheltered site, and is tolerant of short periods of dry, cool climates, and frost. This lovely tree is ideal as a small shade tree, for avenue or street planting, growing as a specimen, or maintaining in a courtyard garden. It also makes for a lovely backdrop for smaller shrubs. NB: all parts of this plant are poisonous.
