The Macintosh rose was a popular motif and theme in much of Charles Rennie Mackintosh's work, and helped him break through in the art world at an international level. It is sometimes known as the ‘Glasgow Rose’, after the city where the architect was born.
The rose was used in a number of his buildings and designs and is still found on a host of objects to this day.
