#QTC Brisbane

BRISBANE, AUSTRALIA

Internationally acclaimed artist Arne Quinze was invited to develop a site specific concept for the entrance of The Queensland Theatre Company (QTC). His concept was inspired by the idea of an outdoor foyer, bringing people together and generating movement and social interaction. The large scale sculptural canopy was designed to invite people to explore, offering an immersive experience as shadows are cast and sunlight shines through the beams of the sculpture. The large concrete benches at the feet of the installation provide a calming place for the visitors, creating an outdoor “foyer” and ultimate rest area.

UAP was engaged by the Queensland Theatre Company to develop a public art proposal for the commissioning of an iconic artwork for QTC, located at the fringe of Brisbane's cultural precinct.
