Keith Urban has won tons of awards and written a slew of hit singles, but he says his greatest accomplishment is marrying Nicole Kidman.

The country singer made an appearance on Monday's episode of Living & Learning with Reba McEntire during which McEntire asks him what he considers to be his “biggest achievement.” Urban replies, “There's a lot of things. Marrying the right person, massive.” He added, “Marrying for the right reasons, getting sober 15 years ago, a big turning point in my life.” He went on to explain that, up until then, he'd “never had specific goals.” All he wanted to do was “live in Nashville, wanted to write songs and make some records and hope the radio plays them. Some people come see us play our own music instead of covers that I'm playing. That was it, that was the goal.”

Urban and Kidman have been going strong for quite a while, celebrating their fifteenth wedding anniversary in June. They also have two daughters together, 13-year-old Sunday Rose and 10-year-old Faith Margaret. In September, during an appearance on The Tonight Show, Kidman opened up about their engagement and the moment she knew that Urban was the one. She revealed that New York City is special to both of them as that's where he proposed, adding, “You're not meant to know that!” Host Jimmy Fallon then asked, “When did Keith Urban first sweep you off your feet? When did you know?” The actress replied, “He sat on the stoop of my New York apartment. I came out at 5 a.m. in the morning, and it was my birthday, and he had flowers. And that was it. I was a goner.”

And the feeling is definitely mutual, as the musician confessed in an interview on Dax Shepard's Armchair Expert podcast in September 2020. “She's just the one. She's the one that I was searching for my whole life, and everything not only changed but had to change in me if I was gonna go that road,” Urban explained. “It was like the ultimate fork in the road moment in my life, and it was literally like you either get this right now or you are never, ever gonna get it right. This is your one shot. It felt so obvious. I knew where I was going...It was everything I was looking for and then beyond. Just beyond.”
