Malus toringo var. sargentii is a small tree with a tangled growth pattern and a rounded crown. Height 6 m. The oval, glossy, dark green leaves are hairy and turn to golden yellow in the autumn. The flower buds are pink. In May the creamy white fragrant flowers open. The small long-stemmed fruits have great ornamental value. They start off dark red but from September to mid-October they turn golden-yellow. Can be used in parks, streets and small gardens. The tree is sensitive to sea wind. Winter hardiness zone: 5a
