Cupressaceae

Thuja occidentalis 'Brabant' Thuja occidentalis 'Brabant'

Medium-size conifer with dense crown and a narrow pyramidal growth habit, 10 - 15 m tall. A tree with a height of 10 m is not much wider than 2.5 m. The bark is reddish brown and peeling off in long strips. The flattened, highly branched young twigs are green first, later turning orange-brown. The scaly foliage is arranged in shingle form. It is bright green and keeps this colour in winter too. When crushed the foliage gives off a characteristically pleasant fragrance. The blossom and the oval cones which follow are inconspicuous. Pruning is exceptionally well tolerated which has led to the popularity of ‘Brabant’ as hedge plant. The fact that the foliage does not change colour in winter adds value. Grows on any soil and is very hardy.
Our trees can only be planted when they don't have any leaves. Due to the this we will start delivering again from November 2024.
