According to a Catholic News Service report, Pope Benedict XVI was the recent recipient of a brand new iPod nano. Lest you think the Pope might be taken off-guard by such a swish new product, you can rest assured that his response was cool, confident, and appropriate ca. 1978.
The iPod came preloaded with Vatican Radio broadcasts, news and interviews from just after the death of J.P. II, and some choice cuts from Beethoven, Mozart, Chopin,Tchaikovsky and punk-rocker Stravinsky. What the article doesn't mention is that if the iPod came pre-loaded with music, the Pope is now an evil music pirate. (Arr, your holiness!)
Now that the Pope is equipped, I have some modest recommendations for some new tunes for him to seek out:
The Pilgrim Travelers' "Jesus Hits Like An Atom Bomb"
Coco Rosie - "Jesus Hearts Me"
Cake - "Jesus Wrote A Blank Check"
Any other recommendations?
