VASIDAE Bartsch (1915, p. 42) records Xancus globulus Chemn. from 'Gape of Good Hope'. This is certainly not an indigenous South African species. Vasum turbinellum (Linn.) is also doubtfully indigenous, though it occurs at Mozambique Island (U.W.). Turton's 'Xancus sp.'
